Great find! This is the first snakefly I've seen on Project Noah. It's an interesting insect, and not very well-known. In the US they occur in the West, so I haven't had the luck of finding one yet. There are 21 species in the US between two families, and I think this one is in the family Raphidiidae. I followed the information for identification from Bugguide, so check the site and go through it yourself to see if you come to the same conclusion.

Snakeflies are harmless to humans, despite their ferocious appearance. If you have any more pictures, please add them!
