Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum

Description:

Deep, burnt red leaves; 10' tall tree with a trunk bifurcated 1.5' from the ground; leave have marijuana-like appearance and edge serrations

Habitat:

City, Uptown, in front of an office building

Notes:

My first impression is it's of the maple family, although a much smaller variety
