Red-eared Slider

Trachemys scripta elegans

Description:

Found this guy running around our backyard. Not sure if I should let him go in a lake a mile away. I have only seen a turtle this small in pet stores. Please let me know if it's ok to let him go and he would be ok. If not what type of food should I feed it. I don't know anything else about it so any info and help is much appreciated. Thanks - Nick

Good call on the Red-eared Slider. They eat pretty much anything and live pretty much anywhere.

Looks like a Red-eared slider to me, but you should check here for pictures to see if it's the same: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-eared_s...
There's a lot of info about what it eats and all, check it out.
