Long-Horned Wood-Boring Beetle

Description:

A Long-horn beetle, 1 cm long, with admirable coloring and texture for camouflage on pine bark. The elytra are covered in multi-toned brown and beige bristles. The last picture shows how well it can disappear on a tree branch. Family Cerambycidae.

Habitat:

Garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
