Red belt conk

Fomitopsis pinicola

Red belt conk is a three-living mushroom with a hoof-shaped fruit body. It has a red border near the outside of the hat. In addition to the red area, the outer edge is also covered by a light (yellow-white) field.

It is quite common in Norwegian forests all over the country, and it grows both on coniferous and deciduous trees.
