Acraea lycoa
Acraea lycoa, the Lycoa Acraea or Dimorphic Acraea, is a butterfly in the Nymphalidae family. The females are much more colourful than the malea and are encountered more often, flying around wild flowers in open sunny areas within forest.
On a dirt road that ran through the center of Kibale forest. Here patches of sun penetrated the forest and there were many butterflies.
Kibale National Park (pronounced Chibale) is a national park in South Uganda protecting moist evergreen rain forest. It is 766 km² in size and is located between 1,100–1,600 meters in elevation.. The northern part of the park has the highest elevation. Kibale is one of the last remaining expanses to contain both lowland and montane forests. In East Africa, it sustains the last significant expanse of pre-montane forest.
