Grey Squirrel

Sciurus carolinensis

Habitat:

Living in the trees beside the creek behind my house. It is the location of my hairdressing shop and in the middle of the city but a wonderful sanctuary for wildlife.

Notes:

We discovered this little guy a few days ago He seems to have had some sort of nasty accident with his tail but other than that he appears to be quite fine. We are already quite attached to him. We call him Nubby!

If anyone knows how well a squirrel can survive this injury, please let me know...unless it's bad news in which case I don't think I want to know! His balance seems to be OK and I have seen him climb to the top of a very high tree. Hopefully that's a good sign.
