Very large shrubby plant, pale yellow flowers, reproductive structures in the middle of the flower may not be fully mature.
Moderate sun, shaded in the morning.

I'd be very interested in any lore you can dig up about using the bark of this plant by Natives and old-timers to treat fevers, and more especially chills and fevers.
This one is cultivated it is on the campus of Appalachian State University. I'll be posting up some others that I took on an outing to Hungry Mother State Park in VA presently.
After doing a little research, it seems the pink one may be native to the southeastern US, maybe Florida and the Gulf Coast. Looks like there's a number of native & cultivated varieties.
These grow all over the forest in our region (Southeastern Ohio) But, just the white ones, I believe the pink ones are totally domesticated. Springtime is really pretty in the woods here!
This looks like a cultivated garden that was planted. Do you see these in the wild around there?
