3-fingered Sloth

Bradypus variegatus

Description:

This sloth was coming down to the forest floor. Probably to use the restroom (something the have to do in the grounds)

Habitat:

Rain Forest,

Notes:

I rather to call them 3 fingered, as all the sloth have 3 toes.... The genus Choloepus has 2 fingers.

Jonathan, Daniele Pralong provided this link on another spotting about the symbiotic relationship of the sloth & the moss growing in it's fur - http://itotd.com/articles/450/the-hidden...
Perhaps you could update this spotting with some info on this & add it to the Symbiotic relationships mission?

For sure there are many differences, besides that they are two different families of sloths.
I like the name 3 fingered, but officially the english name is; 3 toed sloth.

I never knew that--three toes, huh! It's the 'fingers' that make the difference. Thanks, Jonathan.

I rather to call it 3 fingered, not 3 toed sloth, as all sloths have 3 toes.
so we see the differences in the arms´s claws.
