Gold Nugget Wrasse

Xenojulis margaritaceous

Description:

Marine fish, spotted in Papua New Guinea during coral reef survey. Very good in camouflaging and agile. Very hard to take photo in the wild. What we did was to catch it with fishing net and took photo in the plastic container.

Habitat:

Shallow reefs 1-5 meters depth, seagrass meadows and algae. Sandy bottoms with mangroves at the shore.
