Spider Lilly

Hymenocallis caribaea

Description:

This lily is a native of the West Indies, often planted in clumps particularly along roadsides. It has dark green strap-like leaves to 80 cm long. The inflorescence may be up to 50 cm long and each umbel has up to 12 flowers. Perianth white, tube to 11 cm, corona funnel-shaped, long with narrow lobes to 11 cm long; staminal filaments up to 13 cm long.
