Mountain Goat

Oreamnos americanus

Description:

Mountain goats are large ungulates, with white to cream colored woolly coats to keep them warm in the harsh environments in which they live. Both males and females have horns.

Habitat:

High alpine meadows and cliffs, rarely venturing into trees. They are superb mountaineers, casually standing and climbing on steep cliffs that don't appear to have any footholds.

Notes:

This particular animal is shedding its winter coat.
