Braconid wasp

Habitat:

Tropical rainforest

Notes:

Definitely in the superfamily Ichneumonoidea, and I'm pretty sure it's in the familly Braconidae. Braconidae includes parasitic wasps. I didn't notice before, but this picture also has a katydid nymph in the lower left-hand corner.

It's been cool being in the tropical rainforest, I've had a great chance to compare with my temperate forests back home. Gives me a lot of perspective.

Wonderful news! I'll keep an eye out for it. Unfortunately, I haven't found too many assassin bugs while I've been here. I think they've been avoiding me. Tricky little buggers.

Yeah, I was reading your recent post of your blog. Sounds interesting and fun.
I've been to La Selva but it was 11 years ago before I really got into photographing everything. I would love to go back and will be in the next few years. The tropical rainforest is my favorite place too. I read that you're very into assasin bugs. I'm going to post a pic of an interesting assasin bug (pretty sure it is anyway) I saw in Brazil.

It's mostly been spent in San José, since that's where my university is. I've had the good fortune to be able to travel to a lot of different places in the country, and to my favorite place, La Selva Biological Station.

Reentry is going to be an interesting phase. I'm excited to get back home though, I've received some money from my university to carry out some projects that I've designed on my own, so I'll be studying bugs and will definitely have more spottings to upload.

Nice, good place to study. Where did you spend most of your time? It's going to be hard to go back to life in the U.S.after being in the tropics for a while,eh?. Have a good re entry. Look forward to seeing more of your pics.

Yes, I've actually been studying in Costa Rica for the past four months. I leave at the end of the week and I've been slowly uploading my spottings. Time constraints and slow internet have impeded my progress on that account: I still have hundreds more to upload from other places in Costa Rica.

I haven't spent a great deal of time in Limón, but I've tried to make the most of it!
