Black Geometrid Moth -2

Description:

This is the black and yellow form of the moth. In this form, symmetrically placed transverse bands of pale yellow disrupt the sooty overall appearance giving it an attractive lacy look.

Habitat:

Seen under bright lights along with the black form - suburban garden.

Notes:

Larvae feed on young gum leaves. Family: Geometridae
Subfamily: Ennominae
