A fisherman just got this in Evatraha, near Ft. Dauphin. I think its a type of ray but not sure. They cooked it over an open fire and ate it shortly after this photo was taken.

DONT touch it! thats an electric ray, also called a torpedo ray

Thanks Mitch, I think you right. It will be hard to narrow it down to species but at least I have a common name for it.

the dorsal fin makes me think skate, no idea on the species
