Torpedo Ray

Notes:

A fisherman just got this in Evatraha, near Ft. Dauphin. I think its a type of ray but not sure. They cooked it over an open fire and ate it shortly after this photo was taken.

Really?! I guess it's lucky I didn't touch it! Many of the photos of torpedo rays do look similar. Thanks for the ID.

DONT touch it! thats an electric ray, also called a torpedo ray

Thanks Mitch, I think you right. It will be hard to narrow it down to species but at least I have a common name for it.

the dorsal fin makes me think skate, no idea on the species
