I thought this fungus looked like a beautiful flower. The ants on it must have thought it tasted like one as well. It was growing about 8 feet up on the tree. I wish I could have seen it from above.
Since it's a fungus, as Gordon said, you should probably change the name and description to reflect that. If you need help with doing that, just let me know!
Thanks Gordon! You're probably right. I guess this does look more like a mushroom and a mushroom is a fungus. I just thought it looked really unusual!
I really like this photo, but I think this is a fungus. Not familiar with it though so can't give you any other hints as to the ID.
