Description:

Bee look-a-like that has no sting. Only two wings and short antennae.

Habitat:

Flowering plants of many different species.

Notes:

Eggs are laid in wasp nests where they live as scavengers on hive detritus. When ready to pupate they leave the nest and burrow into the soil. They emerge as adults between May and June.
