I can't say I have. I've only seen a couple of them in my life, and never at very close range.

Have you ever heard porcupines hum? Seriously... we sleep in a tent during the summer and heard what we thought was a person humming a very repetitive little tune, flashlight found a porcupine ambling by ... it had to be the source.
