Passiflora maliformis
Smallish (2") passionfruit with purple, yellow or green skin and a grayed-yellow orange pulp that is aromatically scented and flavored. It is a fast growing vine, growimg best in somewhat cooler than tropical climates. The rind is particularly hard, and tougher than most passion fruits.

Spotted these passionflowers growing wild along side the main highway near the vilage of Wowetta. The main highway cuts through primary rainforest.

i think that it's a passiflora maliformis and not passiflora quadrangularis, because the p.quadrangularis' flower are red and don't have a green brattae

Thank you. Passionflowers are one of my favorites too, but they are so hard to find in the wild. I will post the one other I saw in Guyana.
I love passionflowers, and these are gorgeous. The first picture is very interesting, I think it displays the ornate structure wonderfully. What a wonderful thing to find :)
