Ferocactus sp

Description:

Most are called barrel cactus Ferocactus genus, the rest belonging to the genus Echinocactus. The body, these cactus, is globular in his youth to be growing in height with age to reach a barrel. Measuring between 2 cm to more than 30 cm, depending on the species. Have pronounced longitudinal ribs, bumps simple little marked when young, usually with strong curved spines. Color varies between species, of grayish green to bluish green. The flowers are bell-shaped, yellow, orange or red and even purple, as in Ferocactus stainesi.

Habitat:

The habitat of this genus is the deserts of California and Baja California, parts of Arizona, southern Nevada and Mexico.
