Giant Leech

Description:

Huge leech, at least 12" (30cm) in length. Flat, raised ridge down the center of its body,

Habitat:

rainforest

Notes:

Spotted this on a nighthike. It was the only leech I saw this large in Brazil. It's normally a leech found in water. My guide said it was moving through the forest to find water. There was no threat of it sucking my blood!
