Flesh-fly

Sarcophaga carnaria

Description:

A large fly, about the size of a horse fly, with black and white stripes on the upper part of the thorax and black with white spots on the lower part. Brownish-red eyes.

Habitat:

Moving between a flower bed and the green grass beside it in a well-maintained garden.

Notes:

I have no idea what that thing is in the last photo that the fly is on. I was so focused on the fly I didn't even notice it until after I took the photos.

It looks like a flesh fly. Sarcophaga carnaria.
