Furcifer balteatus
rainforest
This chameleon wandered out of the forest in Ranomafana and onto the grass at the campsite. It walked right up to me as I was kneeling down to take it's photo. It then proceeded to climb on my boot and up onto my shorts!

Thanks Chris. It was amazing. They are my favorite reptile and I was fortunate enough to see a lot of them. I can see you're a backpacker like myself. You have a lot of great spottings.
Awesome! It must be amazing to see a chameleon in the wild!
Thanks!
He is wearing an unbelivable Suit!
WOW.. I really like this shot...
dan-ishous again.. :)
Yeah, chameleons are my favorite reptile. It was amazing to see so many of them in Madagascar. I can recommend a book for you, if you're interested, its called Masters Of Disguise: A Natural History of Chameleons by James Martin
What striking colouration, it's incredible how those stripes look so much like a leaf when viewed above. Chameleons are curious little guys!
