Someone had this turtle as a pet and although I question its current environment, I was amazed at the beauty it possessed.

probably not a Gopher Tortoise, but definitely some kind of tortoise. Russian Tortoises are commonly sold as pets so maybe that. I'm not really familiar with exotics
I believe that's a gopher tortoise.
