This was a pod of around 30 females and babies. They started jumping out of the water trying to get away from the boat.

Thank you All! I've changed the ID.
The tour guide said that the females are very protective of the young and this is why they were trying to get away from the boat.

The short-beaked common is the most common dolphin in Tasmanian waters. And no, CataAna's and my spottings are not very far apart,

Thought it might be a Long Beaked common dolphin since its beak is so long but they don't how up in your area... the range is right for short beaked dolphin and the markings are pretty close to the ones in my book: National Audubon Guide to Marine Mammals of the World.

I know Tursiops is mostly shades of greys and bulkier with blunter beak.

Interesting they were fleeing you boat... often dolphins in our area (Western North Atlantic) will come over to bow ride on boats.
