I think this one was injured. Notice how the wing is sticking out on the side. It also seemed to not be able to close its wing covers.
Nice shots. These guys are really fast and can be shy as well. You did good in getting the photos! Enjoying your sightings very much.
Great pictures! This is a tiger beetle, which aren't too difficult to identify. Check out Bugguide.net for species that occur in Georgia and you should be able to figure it out. :)
