NatralList, most ornamental varieties of flowers only purpose is to add beauty to gardens because they are eye catching to people. You are right it is no use to insects who drink nectar or collect pollen.

family is Amaryllidaceae genus is Narcissus this looks like an 'ice king' daffodil to me: here is a helpful page though http://www.theplantexpert.com/springbulb...
