I think I found the species, although feel free to correct me if I misidentified.
Thanks for the help! I'll see if I can identify the beetle using that link.
This isn't a tiger beetle, but it is a beetle. It may be a ground beetle. BugGuide.net has several thousand pages of beetles species and doesn't seem to be loading this evening for some reason.
