Eastern Bluebird

Description:

Male at top left, female bottom right. Small thrush bird. Adult males are vibrantly colored: white bellies and redish/orange chests and throats with blue tops. Females have same coloring, just more subdued.

Habitat:

Found in open woodlands, farmlands and orchards, and most recently can be spotted in suburban areas... Eastern Bluebirds are found east of the Rockies, southern Canada to the Gulf States and southeastern Arizona to Nicaragua. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Blu...).

Notes:

This couple lives in a bluebird house attached to an exposed pear tree in our yard. Rural residential.
