Argiope aurantia
Garden spiders are black with yellow markings, with the cephalothorax covered with short white or silver hairs. Legs are black with yellow or sometimes red sections close the body. Adult females are about 3/4 to 1 1/8 inches long. Males are about 1/4 - 3/8 inches.
Argiope aurantia habitat ranges from temperate to tropical to terrestrial. These spiders can be found from Canada down to Central America.
