This male eastern carpenter bee was buzzing around his nest hole outside the visitor's center at the John Heinz NWR in PA.

I love carpenter bees. When I was growing up we had a colony in an old orange tree stump. I used to watch them buzzing about and digging new holes.
i grew up in eastern PA and remember listening to those guys munch on the roof of my house all night long. very cool pic :)
