I've never seen these around my house in Central Florida before. But I'm sure they are just something common that had been to small to notice in the past.

Habitat:

Subtropic. Found in my backyard which is next to a Cypress bog.

The orange background is just the outside wall of my house.

Yes, that appears to be the egg case, and those are some kind of Assassin bug (Reduviidae) nymphs.
