Aquilegia canadensis
May grow to heights of 3 feet, but in our area they are usually shorter. The red flowers are about 1.5 inches long with a yellow center. Leaves are grouped in clusters of three.
I find them growing at the edge of woods, savannas, and in grasslands.

Beautiful! I cant wait until ours start blooming. Winter just wont let go of her grip!
