Chromodoris willani
Nudibranchs are the modest superstars of the coral reefs. They are quite tricky to spot at first, but once you get your eye in you realise they are everywhere that has sponges present. Common across coral reefs around the world.
Pretty sure that outgrowth on its back is not a characteristic of the species, but rather a peculiar growth on this individual.

Thank you Saarbrigger, and agree on that statement. Coral reefs and other tropical ecosystems seem to have gathered the majority of the funky-looking inverts and vertebrates.
Great pic. Unbelievable what kind of creatures natur brings out.
Same here - I think this is my favourite so far of the ones I've seen: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/619...
It's funny, I didn't really see what the fuss was about until I started seeing them more regularly (once you get your eye in I guess) and realised how stunning they are!
I love nudis!
I found it at Buoy 3 as far as I recall! I never knew how many different nudi's there were around Hoga until a nudi-fan pointed several out to me this summer :)
Wowww, where did you see this one Elsa?! The only ones I've got any pictures of are those purple ones from Sampela.
Like the nudi!
