Ninox connivens
The Barking Owl is brown with white spots on its wings and a streaked chest. They have large eyes, a dark brown beak and almost no facial mask. They are a medium sized owl with a wingspan iof up to 100 cm in length. They weigh between up to 500g.
This species is found in many areas across coastal Australia, although numbers are less than they used to be. This Barking Owl is in permanent care, seen at treasury gardens Perth, WA.
This owl is listed as threatened in some states of Australia

Gary, this was a captive bird with licensed raptor rehabilitators. The owl was part of a display that was held in Treasury Gardens at the time. :-)
