Agalychnis saltator
Another Costa Rican red-eyed frog on Noah, spotted here in the Corcovado National Park. This one has purple-striped flanks, and its toes are not orange, unlike those of Agalychnis callidryas.
Subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical swamps, and intermittent freshwater marshes. It is threatened by habitat loss.
Don't have a frontal shot as it was spotted at night and I didn't want to flash the little guy straight in the eyes...

Thank you Mayra!
Fabulous!!
@Laura Maria, yes they are amazing! I am puzzled though... The Costa Rican INBio doesn't list Corcovado as part the the distribution area for Agalychnis saltator...

Love that purple and white side! What awesome creatures :) One day I'll get the chance to snap some myself!
Hi Jonathan! Indeed the frog was spotted on the grounds of the Corcovado Tent Lodge! The description in
http://amphibiaweb.org/cgi/amphib_query?...
also mentions purple flanks. I'll go with you ID. Thanks!
It looks to me like Agalychnis saltator I have seen then in the same area close to Corcovado Lodge Tent C amp, by La Leona Station....
Thanks Alice! Hope some of our Costa Rican friends can help with ID...
