This is a small perching bird grayish blue above and light below. Eyes are large and dark. A crest adorns the head.
Eastern deciduous forests in eastern North America.
We are at the northern edge of the tufted titmouse's range here in east central Minnesota, so we rarely see them here. In fact, our backyard birdlist still lacks a sighting. This shot was taken in southwestern Wisconsin, where they are far more common, but still rarely seen.
