Cirrhitus rivulatus
Is a common fish in the Galapagos Islands. Nice blue patterns over brown green color. Same size as small groupers.
Hiding in the rocks and crevices.
These pictures were shared with me by a travel companion. My camera is nowadays the same model.

Wow, he is quite the unique looking hawkfish--wonder how he stays hidden with those brilliant colors?
Many thanks for your kind words, venus! :-)
wish i could favorite this beauty twice
so nice indeed.. you'll see the details in its nostrils.. cool! astig! hehehe:j
What an awesome creature!
Argh nooo, I lost my camera to drowning too!! But I got a new one, in the same range but a more up-to-date model. I think I maybe need to get a better one some day, the strobe seems to make a lot of difference
I am sure experts use other models with even better results but for me the Olympus has worked really well, in special I see the difference underwater.
And I have already drown one camera while scuba diving and had to buy another one and I then chose the same model :-)
I was thinking the same thing Marta, how you manage to get the red spectrum back in your underwater photos! This one is lovely, what great colours :)
Hi, thanks! my camera is Olympus SP-550UZ with its accompanying camera case and I also use an extra strobe for UW pictures.
I am very happy with it so far. It keeps very well the red color under water, which is progressively lost with increasing depth. But I am very amateur on this. Just love making pictures :-)
Beautiful pic! So sharp! What camera are you using?
They are a pretty sight when scuba diving in the Galapagos. One of the fishes of the area that everybody wants to spot :-)
Unusual!
WOW..
