It is sickening. But like you say it does happen everywhere. Far too many people shooting, trapping and killing and not enough trying to help.

I guess it is like this all over the world! Here they shoot the Roos and the Parrots just for fun and we end up with the joey and the young or injured end up with the carers!!

It was an amazing experience. Sadly it is all too common. You wouldn't believe what we had handed in to us. Everything from fully grown crocs to large pythons and venomous snakes. We once got 6 rattlesnakes because a pet shop had been shut down. It is just a shame that people don't think before they get these animals.

Cool Job.. I am helping the local wildlife here in my area.. It is very rewarding for me! I am always sad when people buying pets and have no idea how to look after them!

I worked for a reptile rescue charity and we saw quite a few of these guys. They don't make good pets due to being quite aggressive so they are often handed in to rescues or sold on to other people with little knowledge about the proper husbandry.

Doryreed, where did you work with them? I love them.. but have never seen them here in Australia.

Love the last picture. I have worked with these beauties and they have so much character. Not fun getting bitten though. They may be small but their jaws are very strong.

I have seen these in Thailand last year! My son packed one in his backpack. Lucky I checked his backpack before we went to the airport!

The locals in Lamai told me that if the call "TOOO-KAYYYY! TOOO-KAYYYY!" 8 times someone in the village will die.. So they were forever trying to kill them!

Oh man, I had one of these living in my hut in Indonesia, right above my bed. Every night... "TOOO-KAYYYY! TOOO-KAYYYY!" But he kept our hut pretty bug/mosquito free, so I thought it was a small price to pay. This guy is pretty cute, love that last photo haha!!
