Peltodoris atromaculata


They are 3 to 7 cm long nudibranch. White with brown spots (hence the name).


Very common in the Mediterranean Sea. First pic shows one in Isla de Benidorm, Alicante (Spain). Second pic is in Ustica, Italy.

This species is the type for the Peltodoris genus so the placement under the Discodoris genus has been render obsolete some years ago. Discussion on this can be read at the (late) Sea Slug Forum:
