A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Chrysemys picta picta
These two Eastern Painted Turtles were found in a lake in Connecticut basking on rocks and logs, they were released back right after the photograph. The turtles had a yellow plastron (bottom of shell) and yellow and red stripes throughout its body.
Lake with plenty of other creatures (land and water) and lots of plants to eat, rocks and logs to bask on and a lot of sunlight for constant heat.
