Storeria dekayi dekayi

I spotted this snake in Short Hills Provincial Park. It was very aggressive and kept striking and trying to attack. I got really close to take these photos and it nearly bite my fingers!

I can't watch !!!!!!omg...You have taken superb short !!!!
Very, very close. The snake kept trying to attack my fingers as I held my camera. I was maybe 5cm (2") away. No, thankfully, it's not venomous.
completely harmless unless you're a small invertebrate
Wow, how close is this shot Dan? Is it poisonous?
Yes, it was a level surface. It was on concrete in front of a public washroom at the entrance to the park. As for it's head canted to the side, what can I say. That's just how it was. I was lying down with my camera very close to it, maybe this influenced its behaviour.
Howdy Dan...
As to the surface that the snake was on... was it a level surface? It seems unusual to me to see a photo of a snake with its head canted to the side, as in the first and fifth photo.

Thanks for the ID Gordon and Mitch and nice comments Christiane and Geeta.
It's a Northern Brown Snake, Storeria dekayi dekayi
OMG
Great shots..
Could this be a Brown Snake (Storeria dekayi)? See http://cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/subsite/glfc-amph... and read the description, especially about the dark spots behind the eyes.
