Soft velvety fungus that grows in shelf-like projections from rotting logs.

I'm assuming it's a soft, easily crumbled mushroom as opposed to a hard shelf fungus. Pleurotus ostreatus varies in shape & color quite a bit, so the identification is tentative here.
