Scarab Beetle

Description:

This beetle is about 3 1/2 cm long and has an orange colored belly. I found it walking across a dirt road.

Habitat:

Wooded areas.

Notes:

Very large beetle. Earth boring, as in digging, beetle.

looks pretty much like the superfamily of Scarabaeidae - and it appears to be some sort of the family of Geotrupidae.
