Melo amphora
This thing as big as a football.. maybe bigger!!!
@ Noe and Pili .. Reefs here are beautiful ... but the best place I have seen is Vanuatu!
Yes it was the biggest I have seen!
Wow! What a big shell
Cool, glad I could be of assistance :)
Elsa.. A diver from Exmouth, Western Australia just ID it.. and yes.. it is a Melo Genus...Thanks for your help!
Thanks Elsa.. WILL GOOGLE IT..
Wow.. That's crazy. Check out Melo though - pretty certain it is a species in that genus. And judging by the size even more so..
@ Elsa.. It was huge.. like an oversize football..
It's of the Melo genus - not sure about species. Needs some googling.
But then on second thought the shape is too rounded to be coneshell..
Strange.. the flat front of the shell makes me think coneshell (incredibly venomous). How big was it?
Still no ID for the animal!! Maybe some divers are online!
wow, good pic. I like the second best, I get a feeling for its size
