Thanks for that link Chun - Great you were able to spot this moth too! Aren't they beautiful!
It was the spotting of this moth that started my 'moth craziness' over a year ago... :-)

Does anyone know if this hawk moth has a common name?

Yes I feel blessed at least to be able to do diving and now looking forward to more underwater spottings in the coming weekends :-)

We do feel lucky to live here; we enjoy the natural beauty of the Philippines as never before... (We used to live in Tondo, then Quezon City, now near Antipolo.)

At least you get to see the AMAZing underwater beauty of your country through your diving! :-)

You're lucky Ann you live in the suburbs and you get to see these. Here in the concrete jungle of Makati we rarely get to see these beautiful moths.

I totally agree with that too! I'm starting to consider it rude *not* to take photos of these wonderful creatures when they so obligingly stop near you! :D

The way I see it is: when these wonderful creatures stop dropping by for a visit - THEN I'll stop taking photos... (H-hmmm)

Haha. Beginning to agree with the obsession/addiction part :-)

Ah, so you know the feeling too of people around you thinking you're getting a bit (!) obsessive, haha!

I some times get tears even when I am watching them on tv only. haha.. So this one got you a new, and trust me, a very addictive hobby. Even my parents feel I am obsessed. But now you are enlightening others too on the beauties that nature possesses. Well done.

Glad you know that feeling too Harsha! :-)
Actually, it was this particular moth that started off my fascination (/obsession?!) for all the creatures visiting our home. And shortly afterwards I asked my husband to start teaching ME how to take photographs.

WOW! I can imagine how you would have felt. The same happens to me at such sights. :)
