Flowers: 1-2 (usually 1) pink, inflated, slipper-like lip petal, red veined with a fissure down the front.-Leaves: 1 basal pair, each 6-8" (18-20 cm) long, oval, ribbed, dark green above, silvery-hairy beneath.-Height: 6-15" (15-38 cm).-Flowering April-July
Dry to moist forests, especially pinewoods.
