Striped cucumber beetle

Acalymma vittatum

Description:

I have been looking for this species for the better part of 2 summers now, and I finally got my chance to shoot it this afternoon. It was a total surprise, as the day was blustery and gray, with most invertebrates either hunkered down or gone for the season. Out of nowhere I spotted this little gem and started clicking away. Now I've seen the spotted AND the striped cucumber beetles! Interestingly, they are not in the same genus, but do belong to the same subtribe (Diabroticina).

Habitat:

Garden in a City park

Congrats on finding this beauty! Love to mark off spottings that are found after searching. Nice series as usual :)
