Typhonium roxburghii
A fascinating Aroid from S. E. Asia which bears quite large, deep mahogany-purple spathes almost at ground level. These spread sideways and are pierced in the centre by a slender, erect spadix of a deep violet. For a flower of sombre shades, they are very conspicuous and attractive. They will do well in pots, and a 12cm pot will accommodate several plants. Grows best in moist, humus-rich conditions and is effectively hardy as it can be dried and cooled for frost-free winter storage. source: http://rareplants.co.uk/product.asp?P_ID...
