Rough Green Snake

Opheodrys aestivus

Description:

A slender snake no thicker than a pencil. Bright green on top and yellow on the bottom with no discernable markings. Dry rough scales covering its body.

Habitat:

Mixed forest.

Notes:

Sometimes inaccurately called a grass snake, rough green snakes prefer to spend most of their time in the trees. Completely docile and harmless unless you are an insect.
